Scout Group Council

Comprises all adults having a responsibility in the Scout Group, the older members of the Scout Troop and all Explorer Scouts who are in partnership with the Group, the parents of every member of the Scout Group and anyone within the local community wishing to identify themselves with the Group and offer support.

The Scout Association is concerned for young people.  It aims to encourage their physical, mental and spiritual development so that they can take a constructive place in society.  Through an attractive programme of activities and the opportunity for accepting responsibility for others with the guidance of adult leaders, the members of the Scout Movement are helped to fulfil the above aims.

For the Association to achieve this aim and extend its influence to even more young people, a strong and well-motivated body of adult support is essential.  These leaders need to be supported by yet more adults accepting responsibilities for the effective management of the Scout Group's business affairs and ensuring that there is adequate financial backing for the supply and maintenance of facilities (including the Headquarters) and equipment.  In addition, all fundraising is the repsonsibility of the Group Council
