Scouting in Penycae is made up of:

Beaver Scouts - age range 6 to 8 years

Cub Scouts - age range 8 to 10 and half

Scouts - age range 10 and half to 14

Explorer Scouts - age range 14 to 18 (in partnership with the Scout District)

All of the above has its own section leader and assistant leaders who are responsible to the Group Scout Leader.  The Explorer Scout Leaders are also part of this leadership team although responsibility for Explorer Scouting rests with the Scout District.  The leadership team meet on a monthly basis at a Group Leader's Meeting under the chairmanship of the Group Scout Leader.

The success of scouting in the locality is also down to the strong support organisation behind the scenes - consisting of a Group Council (meeting once a year) and more importantly, the Group Executive which meets quarterly to oversee the lay side of Scouting in the Scout Group.  It has specific responsibilities in supporting the Group Scout Leader and the other Leaders, maintaining the eadquarters and all equipment together with fundraising.
