Sponsored Walk for Russia 2010.

This is one of the first sponsored walk as Penycae Explorers, Reaching from one town to another, and hopfully not the last.

What this walk is about, Is to raise as much money as possible, to reduce the cost to send Pen-y-cae and Llangollen Explorers to Russia August 2010. This Russia trip is based on many different volunteering work out there.

Russia is a country that has loads of problems, A lot of people dont have jobs and many people have a problem with alchohol, Many parents are so drunk a lot of time that they cant look after their children properly. This is why so many children end up living on the streets. This means that life at home is very difficult for lots of children. Many families dont have enough money to buy food and clothes of their kids so they end up having to beg.

There is no goverment help for children out there and they realy on help from charities and orphanges, who provide food, clothes and surpport for the children that no one else cares about, so we are taking it upon ourselfs with local support from companies in our local area and sponsorship money to go out there and try and make a differents,

Basic facts on Russia's homless;

• There are approximately one milion homeless kids in russia,
• 100,000 children in moscom,
• 30,000 children in st petersburg,

And statistics show that at the opposite end on the country, in Primorski krai, one out of every ten youths becomes homeless.
